Lapland Family Holidays ❄️
Magical, unforgettable… and not right for everyone
Lapland is one of those trips that captures people’s hearts instantly.
Snowy forests. Reindeer. Husky rides. And, of course, meeting Santa.
But it’s also very different from a typical family holiday — and I believe families deserve honest guidance, not hype.
That’s why I take a reassurance-led approach to Lapland planning, helping families decide whether it feels right now, later, or not at all.
Is Lapland right for your family?
Lapland can be absolutely magical when it’s a good fit.
And it can be overwhelming when expectations don’t match reality.
Things that really matter with Lapland include:
Your child’s age
How your child copes with cold, darkness and change
Whether your family enjoys structured, activity-based trips
Budget comfort (Lapland is short but often higher cost)
Sensory needs and energy levels
Some children thrive on it.
Some families decide to wait a year or two.
Both are completely valid choices.
My role is to help you make the choice that feels right for your family, not to push you into booking.
I also specialise in SEND-friendly travel — you can read more here

What Lapland holidays are really like:
Lapland trips are usually:
Short (often 2-7 nights)
Very cold (much colder than many families expect)
Carefully scheduled with set activity times
Experience-led, not relaxing
And that’s exactly what makes them special when they work.
Families often tell me they’re surprised by:
How structured the days are
How quickly children tire in the cold
How important clothing and preparation are
How much the right experience matters more than the cheapest price
This isn’t about doing more — it’s about doing the right things.

How I help with Lapland planning
I don’t just look for “a Lapland deal”.
I help families with:
Choosing the right location and experience
Understanding what’s worth paying extra for (and what isn’t)
Managing expectations, especially for children
Planning in a way that feels magical, not stressful
Being honest if I don’t think something is the right fit
Some families move forward quickly.
Others sit with the idea for a while first.
There is no pressure and no rush — ever.
