SPARCLE - Shared holidays for solo parents, without pressure

Reassurance-led shared holidays for solo parents who don’t want to travel alone

Because solo shouldn’t have to mean alone.

What is SPARCLE

SPARCLE stands for:

Solo Parent Adventures, Reassurance, Connections & Lasting Empowerment.

It’s not a group tour.
It’s not forced friendships.
And you don’t book “into a group”.

Each family books their own holiday — but travels alongside another solo parent family on the same dates and at the same hotel.

You have reassurance, familiar faces, and ready-made playmates for the children… without pressure or expectations.

I've written more about what these trips are actually like and how they work in practice Is It Awkward Travelling as a Solo Parent - SPARCLE Holidays

How SPARCLE works

Step 1

You tell me your dates, destination and budget.

Step 2

If another solo parent family is travelling at the same time, I connect you (with permission).

Step 3

You travel independently — but with built-in reassurance and support.

Is SPARCLE right for you?

It’s perfect if:

• You’re a solo parent who feels nervous travelling alone
• Your child would love another child to play with
• You want reassurance without group pressure
• You value flexibility and independence

It’s not ideal if:

• You want fully organised group activities
• You expect to spend every day together
• You prefer completely solo travel

Many of our families travel with additional needs — you can read more about how I support SEND families here

Do we have to spend all out time together?

Absolutely not.

SPARCLE isn’t about being glued to each other or following a group schedule. You book your own holiday and you keep your independence.

Some families might meet for breakfast, pool time or an evening walk. Other days you might do your own thing completely.

It’s reassurance — not obligation.

What if the children don’t get along?

Honestly? Kids don’t have to become best friends for SPARCLE to work.

Sometimes they click instantly. Sometimes they just enjoy knowing another child is nearby. And sometimes they dip in and out.

There’s no pressure for forced friendships. It’s about familiarity and comfort, not perfection.

And as a parent, just knowing another adult is there can make a huge difference.

Can you match children of similar ages?

I always try to match children within a similar age range where possible.

That doesn’t mean exact ages every time — but I’m very mindful of personalities, confidence levels and what would feel comfortable for both families.

It’s not random. It’s thoughtful.

What if my child needs downtime or space?

Then they get downtime and space.

SPARCLE isn’t about filling every hour. If your child needs quiet mornings, early nights, or a break from socialising, that’s completely fine.

The whole point is reassurance — not pressure.

You know your child best. I support that.

Is it awkward meeting another solo parent?

It’s usually far less awkward than you imagine.

You’ve already got something huge in common — you’ve both chosen SPARCLE. That shared understanding removes most of the nerves.

And remember, it’s not a blind social event. It’s simply knowing someone else is there.

You’re not being judged. You’re not performing. You’re just travelling.

What if no one else is booked on my dates?

Then you still have a beautiful holiday planned.

SPARCLE is an added layer of reassurance — not a condition of booking.

If there isn’t another family on those dates, I’ll tell you honestly. You can decide whether to proceed, adjust dates, or wait for another match.

There’s never pressure.

Are we expected to share costs or activities?

No.

Each family books and pays for their own holiday and activities.

You’re not financially tied to anyone else. It’s independent travel, just with built-in familiarity.

Why I created SPARCLE

As a solo parent, I know how big that first holiday can feel.
Not because of the destination — but because of the responsibility.

SPARCLE exists to remove that “doing it alone” feeling, without taking away your independence.

You don’t have to travel alone to prove you can.
